Niagara Falls

The power and beauty of Nature. That is all I can say. You can feel the rush of the river and in its coolness and mist, all your thoughts are washed anew.

Yes, I am drawn to it. Drawn to the power of water, it's purity and promise of life...

Inside the falls, and yes the raincoats are free, but with all our thoughts of helping mother nature we agreed to recycle them. And that is the view from our room. Oakes Hotel is the best in Niagara, as in any other it is all about location, location and location.

yup we went out and hit Dragonfly, Here I am with my Lancaster buddies, Beryl Bas, we arrived in the US on the same day and flight. Then Lowella Evangelist and in the Breakfast table there is Kaye Estampador who is now in Jackson Florida, whom I will visit someday.....

PCAD Fashion Show

So this is what I did for my summer 2008. I took up summer class in Pennsylvania College of Arts and Design and learn in a period of more or less 60 hours total, I learned to illustrate, use watercolor, make a pattern and most of all sew. Yup, I did, sew 2 dresses and hmmm, I'm proud of it hahaha....

Chrissy is so dependable, I can always ask her to model for me. Besides she fit into my dresses like it was made for her. Actually, I gave this tiger dress to her after the show. And yup, that is the audience. Hehehe parents and friends of my classmates.

So here are some shots of the show, and that is my black and white dress and tiger print dress. I know it could have been better, but hey, give me a break, I don't know how to sew in the first place, and now I have more respect for all well constructed dresses out there, it is not easy.

My lunch mate in her own design, Helen Kho and Mae my teacher.

thanks Beryl and Tim for coming to see my toe dipping in fashion design. And yes this is my recycled dress, made of ribbons and some Christmas trimmings which i think of Marushka.
Whatever that means. OOooooo I really love Christian Lacroix. hahahaha.
But I have to keep my day Job. But if ever I see a beautiful garment I can't help but think I can really make a good interpretation of it. The mall rack is soooo mass produced.

cebu in NY

I was excited to hang out with my old friends from Cebu when they were here in NY to launch the Beach House book by Jing Ramos. The book is a must coffee table book for all Cebuanos because as I have it in my house, all my friends are amazed of the paradise that we live in. Hmmm they are wondering why I am here, oh well, we have to work to put bread on the table hahaha. But we will always have Cebu.

Then we had breakfast at Dean and deLuca, Jing, me and OJ Hofer. I like OJ look here, the scarf really gave the punctuation and he looks so slim.

then, some fun fittings and poses in Blanc de Chine in 5th Avenue NY. Emmanuel Hamoy is fabulous!!! I tried to do my own projections hehehe but I guess I have lots to learn. I don't do this everyday, you know, I used to in Cebu and all those Red Wine in Mivida really helped a lot.
Gosh! Mentioning Mivida gives me away knowing that it was ages ago, but still as everyone knows it was OUR place that be....and it lives on...in every party people.....hahahaha

the vicuna shawl, is $6,000.00, so this is for posterity only. It may be worth it I know, it feels so soft and warm like no other, but the tag is hmmmm.....sinful.

till then...

my taste of fashion week in NY

i have always been a "fashionista" or I would like to think that i am. But I am more on the sane side when I create a look. But I realize I dress up according to the people I go out with. I am more daring when I go out with my other fashionista friends in Madrid, NY, Paris, HongKong, Manila, Cebu or Davao. But I don't go out with them as often anymore and now I'm in Lancaster, PA, only the Amish people are daring in their fashion---hahaha. but no disrespect whatsoever.

so as I said a taste of Fashion Week in Bryants Park when I was just excited to be outside the tent hoping for celebrity sightings when a fairy god yoga instructor, Otto Cedeno (Director), asked me if I wanted to see the show. Ahhh....well ....let me think.....i actually have to do some...are you serious????!!!!! of course I want to see the show, I have always dreamed of seeing one and these events are close to impossible since it is by per invitation only...so yes, I said in all I can not believe my luck, as I went past those burly guards and got into the infamous Bryant tent, I was actually, IN, and moreso, I got a seat.....and pics to prove it......

thanks, OTTO, till next fashion week---2009 perhaps, I missed 2008, just because....
